APRIL 2021 NEWSLETTER
This past month, we celebrated the Day of Silence with GLSEN chapters around the country. This annual event is a student-led demonstration where LGBTQ students and allies all around the country take a vow of silence to protest the harmful effects of harassment and discrimination of LGBTQ people in schools. This year, tens of thousands of students and participants across the country joined in, and we here at GLSEN Phoenix celebrated the day with our Virtual Breaking the Silence Event! This all-online experience brought together GSAs and students from around the Valley for a night of fun, music, games and more, all designed to promote a sense of community and belonging. This amazing event couldn’t have happened without the help of our wonderful crew of volunteers! We’d like to thanks the following dedicated GLSENeers for all their hard work: Holly Tyler, Remy Sinclair, Sarah Evins, Rebekah Cheyne, Dawn Parrino, Cora Baron, Laurie Provost, Kayla Castro, Edith Kobyelyanskaya! Thank you for all your support!
